Frequently asked questions about registration

NERD stands for Nigeria Education Repository and Databank. It is a Federal Government initiative that requires every Nigerian university to submit verified academic records and National Identification Numbers (NINs) of all graduating students to a national database. Your participation is compulsory and is required before NYSC clearance can be processed.
Contact the Registry directly with your full name and matric number. The Registry email is displayed at the bottom of every page. For urgent matters regarding NYSC clearance, contact the Registrar's office in person.
You must use your official Caleb University email address (e.g. firstname.lastname@calebuniversity.edu.ng). Personal email addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) are not accepted. If you do not know your institution email, contact the Registry with your matric number.
Yes. This portal is the official NERD data collection platform of Caleb University, operated by the Registry. It transmits data securely to the Federal Government's NERD portal at ned.gov.ng. All data is protected under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
First check your spam or junk folder. The email is sent from NERD Office, Caleb University. If it is not there, click "Resend activation link" on the registration page. If you still do not receive it after 30 minutes, contact the Registry with your matric number so they can send the link directly.
The system checks that your email and matric number match the records already on file. Common issues: (1) using a personal Gmail instead of your calebuniversity.edu.ng address, (2) a typo in your matric number -- check the format (e.g. 21/8288), (3) your record may have a different email on file. Contact the Registry if the problem persists.
Yes. If your matric number and email are not found in the existing records, the system will create a new record for you. You will then fill in all your details -- including academic information -- on the form. The Registry will verify your academic data.
Your admission session is the academic year you were first admitted to Caleb University. For example, if you started in September 2021, your admission session is 2021/2022. This is used to group students for set-by-set submission to the NERD portal.
No. Each matric number and email address can only be linked to one account. If you have already registered and activated your account, simply log in with your email and matric number. If you have forgotten which email you used, contact the Registry.
Activation links are valid for 48 hours. If yours has expired, visit the registration page again and re-enter your details. A new activation link will be sent to your email. Alternatively, use the "Resend activation link" option.
